Preserving the Memory of Civilization - The Electrical Renovation Project of Qianxi Village in Yinjiang County, China's Traditional Village Protection Project, has officially launched. Tianhong Cable is honored to be the sole sponsor of wire safety products.

"A square house of more than ten mu, with eight or nine thatched houses. Elms and willows shade the back eaves, peach and plum trees line the front hall. A distant village is warm and cozy, smoke lingers in the village." This is not just the idyllic countryside described by Tao Yuanming, but also the authentic homeland of Chinese people around the world. We should protect traditional villages and express our homesickness.

Traditional villages are a precious cultural heritage of my country, imbued with profound historical and cultural information. They are hailed as classic "museums" of folk culture and "living fossils" of rural history and culture. Traditional villages are precious legacies left by our ancestors, and their primary value is as a non-renewable cultural resource. Therefore, protecting traditional villages is the shared responsibility of every member of society.

On April 25, 2014, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, and the Ministry of Finance issued the "Guiding Opinions on Effectively Strengthening the Protection of Traditional Chinese Villages" (Jiancun [2014] No. 61):

(I) Guiding Ideology Guided by the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee, we will thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Urbanization Work Conference, the Central Rural Work Conference, and the National Conference on Improving the Rural Human Settlement Environment. Following the principles of scientific planning, holistic protection, inherited development, prioritizing people's livelihoods, steady progress, and emphasis on management, we will strengthen the protection of traditional villages, improve the human settlement environment, and achieve sustainable development of traditional villages.

(II) Basic Principles: Adhere to adapting to local conditions and prevent uniformity; prioritize planning and prohibit disorderly construction; prioritize protection and prohibit overdevelopment; prioritize people's livelihoods and oppose formalism; adhere to meticulous workmanship and strictly prevent shoddy construction; and uphold democratic decision-making and avoid over-commitment.

(III) Main Objectives: Through the joint efforts of the central government, local governments, villagers, and society at large, within three years, ensure that the cultural heritage of villages listed in the Chinese Traditional Villages List (hereinafter referred to as Chinese Traditional Villages) is fundamentally protected, providing basic living and production conditions, basic disaster prevention and safety measures, and basic protection and management mechanisms, and gradually enhance the comprehensive capacity for the protection and development of traditional villages.

The significance of protecting traditional villages:

Villages are important carriers of traditional culture. Through traditional villages, we can understand traditional culture and promote its inheritance and development.

Protecting traditional villages plays a vital role in showcasing the diverse historical and cultural achievements of the Chinese nation and in studying the evolution of human civilization.

They can carry forward the spirit of the Chinese nation, embody the profound and extensive characteristics of Chinese culture, and enhance the cohesion and creativity of the Chinese nation.

They are conducive to cultivating our cultural awareness and confidence, pursuing the path of socialist cultural development with Chinese characteristics, and achieving a culturally strong nation.

Traditional villages carry forward the historical memory of the Chinese nation, its wisdom in production and life, its cultural and artistic achievements, and its ethnic and regional characteristics. They uphold the roots of Chinese civilization and embody the nostalgia of all ethnic groups in China. However, in recent times, the destruction of traditional villages has become increasingly serious, making it imperative to strengthen the protection of traditional villages.

 

 

 

On August 24, 2018, the electrical renovation project of Qianxi Village, Yinjiang County was officially launched. Participating in the launching ceremony were leaders of Yinjiang County Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, relevant leaders of Yinjiang County Fire Department, representatives of International Copper Association, Electrical Engineers Cooperation Organization and sponsoring companies. Among the sponsoring companies were Legrand, Sanxiong Aurora, Taiwan Golden Pen Enterprise, Siemens, and Guizhou Tianhong Cable. Tianhong Cable was the only wire safety product company in this event. Its newly launched home decoration special grade wire has the advantages of long service life, low smoke and halogen-free, high flame retardancy, fire resistance, corrosion resistance and high safety performance. It has been highly recognized by the Traditional Village Protection Association and is recommended for use in traditional village electrical renovation projects.

 

 

 

Tianhong Cable's Executive Vice President Jin Xiaolong, Vice President of Engineering Wu Zuyou, and Sales Manager Han Dejian were invited to attend the launch ceremony of the electrical renovation project in Qianxi Village, Yinjiang County. Their first stop was the former residence of Yan Yinliang in Yinjiang County. The traditional houses here are mostly wooden structures, and aging electrical wiring is prone to fire, making the electrical renovation project urgent.

 

 

 

Advantages and features of special grade installation line:

 

 

Yan Yinliang (1854-1933), a Tujia native of Yinjiang, Guizhou, was known by his courtesy name, Bicen, and his pseudonyms, Bicheng. His other pseudonyms were Shengguang, Sheng'an, Yangpo Shanmin, and Yangpo Jushi. He was a renowned calligrapher and educator. He wrote the plaque for the Summer Palace, the imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty. In September of the 17th year of the Guangxu reign, the imperial court completed construction of the Summer Palace and commissioned calligraphers from across the country to write the plaque for the Summer Palace. At the request of Weng Tonghe, Yan Yinliang wrote the three characters "Yiheyuan" and presented them to the Empress Dowager Cixi. She was delighted and approved the inscription, making an exception for him. He was also commissioned to write 18 plaques for pavilions and 23 couplets for the gardens. Yan's calligraphy was elegant and cursive. Cixi was delighted and bestowed upon him a jade seal with the inscription "Chen Shang" bordered with dragon patterns.

In addition to the "Shengguang Moshi" (Excerpt from the "Remaining Guang Moshi"), Yan Yinliang also compiled the "Yan Family Instructions" and the "Chronology of Yan Yinliang." He also collated Liao Xihua's "Explanation of the Ancient Edition of the Great Learning" and "Diary of Entering Tibet," and Zhao Youyu's "Collected Works of Zhao Biesheng." Numerous of his calligraphy can be found at scenic spots in Sichuan and Guizhou provinces, including the Du Fu Thatched Cottage in Chengdu, Wangjianglou Park in Chengdu, Mengcaotang in Zhongshan Park in Guiyang, Qilin Cave on Qianling Mountain in Guiyang, Cimu Garden in Guiyang, Yangming Cave in Xiuwen, and Feiyun Cave in Huangping. The popular couplet at the Huangguoshu Waterfall Viewing Pavilion, "White water is like cotton, scattering naturally without a bow; red clouds are like brocade, naturally formed without a weaving needle," is also his work. This couplet is renowned both domestically and internationally.

 

 

 

Traditional villages carry the "cells" of history, culture, and memory. Preserving and passing them on is the responsibility and obligation of every member of society. Every brick, tile, rafter, and timber bears the historical imprint of social change and embodies the most pristine folk customs. They are the comprehensive embodiment of the politics, economy, and culture of a specific historical period, and the creators and preservers of intangible cultural heritage such as festivals and rituals, folk customs, and folk art. They are of vital importance to the study of local politics, economy, society, history, culture, and architecture.
